It’s been less than a year and the fans are already hyped to see the most entertaining crime-solving trio in television grace our screens once more. Understandably so, as in the first two seasons of Only Murders in the Building, ardent true crime podcast fans Mabel, Charles, and Oliver proved themselves efficient homicide detectives after successfully unearthing the murder mysteries of their prestigious apartment building.

It all started with the death of a building resident and Mabel’s friend, Tim Kono leading the trio to team up to find the killer’s identity, and ever since we’ve seen them caught up in a whirlpool of murders, threats, and general skulduggery.

Given the show’s fresh take on crime-solving methods and the hit comedic tone, the widespread critical acclaim and extremely positive audience reception aren’t at all surprising.

Beyond the core three, we also got appearances from genuine A-listers like Tina Fey, Jane Lynch, and Amy Schumer, to name but a few whose roles are significant to the show’s central storyline. The same goes for season two which ended with the death of Paul Rudd’s Ben Glenroy, raising yet more questions about what we should expect in upcoming seasons.

‘Only Murders in the Building season four: Plot, release date, cast and more

We got a teaser for season three on March 12, 2023, which hints at a Broadway-set homicide to solve and introduces three-time Academy Award winner and bona fide Hollywood legend Meryl Streep to the show. Fans are excited to know who she’ll play and how significant she will be to the overall plot, though for now, the showrunners are keeping their lips sealed.

However, from the teaser we can at least gather that Streep is a Broadway actor, as she’s shown at a table studying a script and saying “Oh my god, it’s me! Oh, I’m so sorry. It’s me, isn’t it” between bouts of nervous laughter.

So, the big question is when it’s going to arrive. Sadly we don’t have an exact date, though season one premiered in August 2020 and season two in June 2022, so we’re thinking it’ll land sometime over the summer. If we have a teaser trailer now, that’s a good indication that it’s coming over the next few months.
