The upcoming Arrow and The Flash spinoff, Legends of Tomorrow, has found its showrunner. According to Deadline, The CW has tapped The Tomorrow People alum Phil Klemmer to run the series, which is set to debut in early 2016.
Klemmer is a longtime collaborator of series co-creator Greg Berlanti, having worked on other Berlanti Productions series like Golden Boy, Political Animals and the aforementioned CW series The Tomorrow People – which starred Robbie Amell, who plays one half of Firestorm but is not yet confirmed for the spinoff show.
[zerg]For those who don’t know, Legends of Tomorrow features a disparate group of heroes and villains from both Arrow and The Flash, who are united by time-travelling rogue Rip Hunter (Doctor Who’s Arthur Darvill) to stop immortal enemy Vandall Savage, who poses a threat not only to the world, but time itself.
Joining Darvill are Arrow‘s Brandon Routh (The Atom) and Caity Lotz (Whit Canary), along with The Flash alumni Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (Heat Wave) and Victor Garber (Firestorm). They’ll be accompanied by franchise newcomers Ciara Renee (Hawkgirl) and Franz Drameh in an as-yet-unidentified role.
Legends of Tomorrow does not yet have a premiere date, but is expected to air in early 2016 while Arrow and The Flash are on Winter hiatus.
