No matter what trouble Daredevil finds himself in when his series returns for a second season in 2016, he’ll have Rosario Dawson there to stitch him back up. According to Marvel, the actress will return to Hell’s Kitchen in Daredevil‘s sophomore run of episodes, as part of a larger deal that will allow her to show up in any of Marvel’s other Netflix shows, like Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Defenders.
Head of Marvel Television and Daredevil executive producer, Jeph Loeb, sounded ecstatic about Dawson’s return and promised exciting things to come in a new statement:
“After working with Rosario in the first season, we knew instantly that we had to have her back for our second. Claire Temple proved a fan favorite in Season 1, and we can’t wait for fans to see all the plans we have for her next.”
Considering that Temple is a nurse in Hell’s Kitchen who will likely cross paths with several of the upcoming heroes, it makes complete sense to expand Dawson’s contract and allow her to show up in series like Jessica Jones. Add the fact that her character has a romantic past with Luke Cage, and it becomes even more likely that Marvel make her the Agent Coulson of the Netflix corner of the MCU, tying each series together via cameo appearances.
Daredevil will return for a second season in 2016, with a new showrunner at the helm. In the meantime, you can look forward to A.K.A. Jessica Jones later this year.
