Seth Rogen Teases The Start Of Production On Preacher Season 2

Much to the surprise of fans, the first season of Preacher didn't really adapt Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's critically acclaimed comic book series. It borrowed plenty of characters and moments from the source material, but served as more of a prequel to it with the finale ending close enough to where the comic began.

Much to the surprise of fans, the first season of Preacher didn’t really adapt Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s critically acclaimed comic book series. It borrowed plenty of characters and moments from the source material, but served as more of a prequel to it with the finale ending close enough to where the comic began.

That was with Jesse, Tulip, and Cassidy on the hunt for God, and the title for the season 2 premiere – “On The Road” – makes it clear what’s next. It was Preacher executive producer and writer Seth Rogen who broke the news over the weekend with the image you can see below, though it’s series regular Sam Catlin who penned the script. Rogen, meanwhile, will once again direct alongside frequent collaborator Evan Goldberg.

We don’t really know what to expect from Preacher when it returns next year, but the fact that it’s coming back for a second season is great news for fans. After all, it never took off in terms of ratings the same way that AMC’s The Walking Dead has, but critics responded well to it and the cable network clearly felt that an extended second year was worth moving forward with.

With production clearly set to begin quite soon, we’ll hopefully see much more from Preacher in the next few months, so be sure to stay tuned for further updates.
