Filming on this year’s Arrowverse crossover is currently underway. This time, the characters of The CW’s quartet of superhero shows – Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow – will unite for the four episode event titled “Crisis on Earth-X,” which will see them face off against their evil doppelgangers from another universe.
While on set in Vancouver recently, Stephen Amell shared this new behind the scenes image of himself and Grant Gustin on his Instagram account. It features them in full costume as Green Arrow and the Flash, looking chilled out and relaxed as they wait for filming to resume, and comes with the caption, “Tuesday’s with Barry,” which is likely a reference to how The Flash airs on that day of the week.
Even with the roster of heroes involved in the crossovers getting bigger every year, a highlight of these team-ups for fans will always be Ollie and Barry reuniting. For instance, last year’s “Invasion” ended on a small-scale but fan-pleasing scene with the two founding fathers of the Arrowverse sharing a drink at a bar. As such, it’s great to see the characters together again here.
This is our first official look at filming on “Crisis on Earth-X,” but thanks to set photos snapped by fans, we’ve actually seen a lot more besides just Amell and Gustin in costume. Yesterday brought a bunch of photos that revealed the Earth-X’ers in costume – including Melissa Benoist as the Nazi version of Supergirl, Overgirl.
Last week, meanwhile, another snap caught the moment that Barry Allen and Iris West say “I do,” as the official synopsis for the crossover revealed it would see the couple finally tie the knot. However, the same photo also showed us that another pair would be getting married at the same time. Spoiler warning: it’s Oliver and Felicity! “Olicity” shippers rejoice. Commiserations to their haters.
The Arrowverse crossover is set to arrive on the week beginning Monday, November 27th.
