Just last week, Supernatural‘s own Jensen Ackles made headlines simply by being spotted on the set of the latest Arrowverse crossover, “Elseworlds.” Normally, fans would freak out just because some of their favorite TV stars were in the same space, but you can understand why having Dean Winchester himself rubbing elbows with DC elite when a major event is shooting got people talking.
Of course, the simplest of solutions is that all of these shows film in Vancouver and Ackles was just stopping by to chat with friends, but it’s hard to forget Stephen Amell teasing a mystery cast member to appear in said crossover. Given that, there’s room for doubt, therefore it’s not totally insane to cast suspicion on Jensen.
Trying to set the record straight is Amell himself, who posted the following on Twitter:
“Let me squash this rumor right now. Jensen Ackles was on set tonight because he’s Grant Gustin’s #2 fan (I’m #1) and not because he’s playing The Batman.”
Well, I never said Ackles was playing Batman and this is the first I’ve heard of that rumor, but it was fun pondering the possibility of him reprising his role of the Red Hood, this time in live action. Either way, it’s very doubtful Stephen would spill the beans before showtime unless otherwise authorized.
If Ackles isn’t the surprise guest, one would hope that Black Lightning himself, Cress Williams, was able to partake in the fun, but his show sets up shop in Atlanta. Though if the logistics were worked out, then we’d have one more reason among an already seemingly endless list to tune in.
Either way, we’ll find out soon enough, as this fall’s Arrowverse crossover begins on Sunday, December 9 with The Flash, continues on Monday, December 10 with Arrow, and wraps up on Tuesday, December 11 with Supergirl.
