Supergirl’s Earth Will Merge With The Arrowverse After Crisis On Infinite Earths

"Crisis on Infinite Earths" is bound to have some major ramifications for the Arrowverse as a whole, what with the entirety of the multiverse coming under threat. One outcome of the crossover that's often been speculated though is that Supergirl's world, Earth-38, will be folded into the central Arrowverse, Earth-1, from now on. It'd make sense for a number of reasons, and thankfully, we're hearing that it's going to happen.

We Got This Covered has been informed by a source that Supergirl will be based on Earth-1 following the crossover. They confirmed that this is due to the Anti-Monitor’s actions, with at least Earth-1 and Earth-38 blending into one by the end of the event. DC fans won’t be surprised by this, either, considering that the original comic book storyline was used to streamline the comics multiverse in much the same way.

This is also a development that’s been a long time coming. Supergirl was only set on a different Earth to begin with because the show originally aired on CBS and the season 1 crossover episode with The Flash revealed that Kara Danvers was from somewhere else in the multiverse.

Once the series moved over to The CW for season 2 though, this has always proved a bit of a hindrance to how much Supergirl can cross paths with the other Arrowverse series. Going forward, however, the show should be able to pull off those fan-pleasing, low-key crossovers that you get between the likes of Arrow and The Flash. The fact that Earth-38 is merged with another world could also create interesting storylines for Supergirl, as there could be huge repercussions that come from this.

Supergirl season 5 kicks off on Sunday, October 6th. “Crisis on Infinite Earths” then begins just over two months later on December 8th, though it won’t conclude until January 14th due to the Christmas break.
