Tenoch Huerta may have been flung into the mainstream of Marvel fans’ minds with his appearance as Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, but the actor has had a long list of roles in movies and TV shows stretching back to the mid-2000s. One of those roles was on the popular Netflix show Narcos: Mexico. But just what character did Huerta play? That’s what we’re here to find out.

In case you were not already aware, Narcos: Mexico is a bit of a spinoff from the original series. While the original Narcos show focused on the Columbia drug trade, Narcos: Mexico focuses on the rise of the Guadalajara Cartel in the titular country. Narcos: Mexico also stars Michael Peña as DEA agent Kiki Camarena, Diego Luna as cartel leader Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo, and Alyssa Diaz as Mika Camarena.

Who does Tenoch Huerta play in Narcos: Mexico?

In line with the historical biopic nature of the Narcos: Mexico series, Huerta plays the real-life Mexican drug trafficker Rafael Caro Quintero – a business associate of Luna’s Felix. We won’t spoil the show for you by getting into specifics, but suffice it to say, Rafael has seen some time behind bars. Ok, now for some minor spoilers, albeit for events that took place beyond the scope of the show.

It turns out, the real-life Caro Quintero has been in the news lately. It was only a year ago that he was recaptured after spending a decade out of prison and eventually returning to drug trafficking, according to the Associated Press.
