Actors Craig Robinson and Rainn Wilson posted a couple of pictures of their final scenes, one with all the cast members in the office, and the other of the same place but empty. We don’t know for sure if this is how the last scene of the finale will look, but I think it’s safe to assume so:

As it got closer to the end, cast members Brian Baumgartner, Rainn Wilson, Kate Flannery, and Angela Kinsey Tweeted out some love to the fans:
Thanks @officetally & all our fans. I just tried to read these… And I can’t. Too moving. Too hard today. (TWSS) ow.ly/j3p9e — Brian Baumgartner (@BBBaumgartner) March 16, 2013

Mindy Kaling took this opportunity to proclaim her love to Rainn Wilson:
@rainnwilson I had to wait until the show wrapped, I’m in love with you
— Mindy Kaling (@mindykaling) March 17, 2013
The after-party saw most of The Office cast and crew attend, but the biggest absence felt was that of Steve Carell, who played Michael Scott till Season 7 of the show. It looks like he really isn’t making a cameo appearance after all. But he was with them in spirit as he Tweeted this message during the night:
Thinking of the cast, crew, writers, et al of “The Office” on your final day of filming. Love you. — Steve Carell (@SteveCarell) March 17, 2013
Love you too, Dad! RT @stevecarell: Thinking of the cast, crew, writers, et al of “The Office” on your final day of filming. Love you. — RainnWilson (@rainnwilson) March 17, 2013
The best Tweets in the end though, came from John Krasinski, who ended it in the most appropriate way possible:
There is truly nothing any of us can say that could be enough. But to each and every fan of our show we simply say… We love you.
— John Krasinski (@johnkrasinski) March 17, 2013
You are the reason we made it on air…You’re the reason we stayed on this long…And you’re the reason we all had the time of our lives!
— John Krasinski (@johnkrasinski) March 17, 2013
It was the greatest honor to be a part of this show! Thanks for getting behind it.Yup… That’s what she said.

It’s bittersweet to read these Tweets and see the show end, but I’m not ready to say my goodbyes just yet, at least not until the finale airs on May 16, 2013. Of course, the cast and crew still have work to do, especially as they’ll have to promote the finale in the coming days, but it was a joy to hear about their last moments on set, as one of the best shows of the decade soon comes to an end.
The Office returns on April 4, 2013 with one final uninterrupted run till the finale, and we’ll be there to cover it. Are you ready for it to be over? Let us know in the comments.
