With season one only holding seven episodes, it was a quick trip to falling in love for us when it comes to Belly and Conrad, and the rest of our most beloved characters. They were captivating, magnificent, and easy to root for — each shining in their own sunkissed light and building an immediate fan base out of audiences everywhere.

In anticipation of season two, there are a lot of big feelings floating around, one of which is highlighted in several ways across the series.

The cast of The Summer I Turned Pretty got together to describe the upcoming episodes with one word: love, and it’s clear to all of us that while last year might have been the summer Belly turned pretty, this year will be the one that breaks her heart wide open; allowing her to feel all the love and magic she can imagine — and unfortunately a lot of heartaches, too.

From ‘love triangle’ and ‘love affair’ to ‘love lost,’ the phrases the cast brings to the table paint a very different story for each of them, but a unified journey at the same time. There’s a lot surrounding love this season, but sometimes love is painful, and sometimes it can break us completely.

This season is all about love, even in the ways it hurts, and we’ve got our tissues ready, but we’re also gearing up to see more romance, whispered secrets, snow on the beach, and life-changing kisses. It’s summer love at its finest, in all ways, it’s overwhelming and otherworldly.

Season two kicks off with three episodes on July 14 on Prime Video, and now is the perfect time to rewatch the first season to gear up for the continuing story and to see Belly and Conrad’s epic romance as it ebbs and flows because while they experienced several ups and downs together, they’re still endgame. It’s Belly and Conrad forever, for infinity.
