As the massive Hollywood bubble attempts to come to terms with the Writer’s Guild of America officially going on strike, Netflix has been forced to pump the brakes on one of the platform’s most popular shows. Of course, we’re talking about Cobra Kai, which is set to embark on its sixth season — with the writer’s room recently gathering together and snapping a photo as a treat for the show’s millions of fans.
As a result of the strike, television series around the country are being placed on a permanent halt. That being said, screenwriter Jon Hurwitz took to his official Twitter account this morning to insist that the beloved writer’s room is going to “strike hard” in a situation where it is absolutely necessary. The news is certainly disappointing for fans, especially when you consider Cobra Kai’s massive popularity — with the much-anticipated fifth season securing over 106 million watch hours in the weeks after arriving on the streaming platform. Nevertheless, the writers’ strike is extremely instrumental in making sure hard-working writers receive fair wages and benefits — much like their actor counterparts.
