In FBI: International, an elite group of FBI agents travel to exotic locations around the globe to solve crimes, arrest criminals, and protect American citizens. Known as the Fly Team, this unit specializes in taking on the toughest jobs the world has to offer, but the breakout star of the squad is easily is Tank, Special Agent Scott Forrester’s beloved dog.

Tank is referred to as a Schutzhund (which means “protection dog” in German), although the enormous canine is actually a Giant Schnauzer. This type of dog is highly intelligent, vigilant, and much more alert than other breeds. Giant Schnauzers can grow to be well over two feet, and weigh around 95 pounds. Their muscular bodies and weather resistant, wiry coats make them well-suited to active duties, and it is no wonder that they are a popular breed with law enforcement agencies and the military, while the natural intelligence they have make them extremely protective of humans.

Showrunner Derek Haas explained in an interview with Parade that, “We thought it would be fun if Forrester had a dog that had a little history with the FBI…  and having a dog running around with the team we thought was cool.”

Fans responded well to Tank, and became immediately ultra-protective of the newest addition to the Fly Team. Luke Kleintank, who plays Agent Forrester on the show, revealed that “everybody loves Tank. We all love him on set so much.”

Tank is played by four year-old Green, and with Giant Schnauzers living for an average of 13 years, we can expect much more of the popular canine in season 3.
