Iron Fist season 2 has a lot of work to do in making up for the disappointment of season 1. Thankfully, though, it looks like it might just manage it. Following on from his awesome guest spot in Luke Cage season 2, the character of Danny Rand appears to be fixed and yesterday’s Comic-Con panel on the Marvel/Netflix show revealed who Alice Eve would be playing: comic book villain Typhoid Mary.

As well as a stronger personality for the lead character and an awesome new antagonist, something else fans want to see in season 2 is Iron Fist’s classic yellow and green costume, which Danny never donned in season 1. We’ve heard that it’s definitely on the way in some form though as a clip from the new run which featured the iconic mask was shown at the SDCC panel. Though the scene has yet to be released online, a leaked image has now surfaced and it gives us our first look at the mask.

Check it out below:

Something the more eagle-eyed among you might notice is that this isn’t Finn Jones under the mask but rather, Sacha Dhawan, who plays Danny’s old frenemy Davos. Apparently, the clip shown at Comic-Con consisted of a flashback to K’un-Lun when Danny and Davos fought to be the one to have the honor of fighting Shou-Lao the Undying (you know, the dragon) and become the immortal Iron Fist. During the duel, both participants wore the ceremonial masks.

As we know, Davos loses this fight, meaning Danny’s crowned the protector of K’un-Lun. However, as we saw in season 1, Davos does not believe that his former friend is worthy of the title, as he’s abandoned their mystical homeland for New York. Of course, fans are now expecting Davos to become his comic book alter ego – the villainous Steel Serpent – in season 2, something that’s been foreshadowed since Daredevil season 1.

Whether that happens or not, we’ll find out quite soon, as Iron Fist season 2 is set to hit Netflix on September 7th.
