After making a career out of pulling pranks on others (albeit for the best possible reasons), MrBeast has finally gotten his just desserts as fellow YouTuber Airrack pulls the Uno reverse card. As we know, Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson has garnered an enormous following for his YouTube content, which usually entails over-the-top challenges, big-budget recreations of iconic film and TV scenes, and donating huge amounts of money to charity and the less fortunate. In recent years, MrBeast has become the most popular YouTuber around, smashing PewDiePie’s subscriber record of 111 million with a whopping 154 million as of April 2023.
As for Airrack, who clocks in at 13 million subs, he’s become known for collaborating with the likes of MrBeast and FaZe Rug, as well as investing in startups, NFTs, and brands. However, as much as Airrack and MrBeast have an amicable friendship, the former worried that he might have taken things too far with this latest harmless prank. As part of the elaborate prank, MrBeast was pulled over in his Tesla by real police officers (who were in on the antics) and placed in handcuffs.
Initially, Jimmy suspected that the whole ordeal was a set-up, seen smiling the whole time and talking back to the officers with a hint of sarcasm. Once he was placed in the back of the cop car, however, the gravity of the situation soon weighed on him, wiping the smile from his face. Airrack had worked closely with the New York Police Department to convince MrBeast that he’d be getting locked up permanently.
After the cops loaded him into the back of their car, Jimmy was driven to a local station, where he was placed in a holding cell and deprived of food and water. After a period of time, presumably an hour or so, MrBeast was removed from the cell and offered a single phone call. When the phone rang, it was Airrack who answered. Jimmy, panicked by the whole situation, insisted that he needed a lawyer — and that’s when Airrack admitted that he’d set the whole thing up.
When giving a statement on the prank, MrBeast said: “I thought it was real. And then I was like, this might be a prank. I was like, this is a lot of resources for a prank. When I got in there I was like, okay wait. Maybe this isn’t a prank.”
This prank was revenge for MrBeast’s own dig at Airrack, so there’s no telling how long this war will last. One thing’s for sure, though, MrBeast will be cooking up something terrible to get Airrack back for this scare.
